Tumble books

Here's a link to the Houston Public Library's kids page. Click on the Tumble book library. Its online books for kids. The site reads the book and the kid reads along with it. There's even different languages for those who want to start other languages now. You should should into if you have small children. It will be like adding another library to your home collection.

Water and more

So, people are wondering just how bad the flooding was in our area. Well, here's the Beaver Bridge normally outside of Eureka Springs.

This picture is the flooding at it's height a few weeks ago.

Spring is officially here in my mind. The trees are finally sprouting leaves. It doesn't seem so dead and sad around here. Yea!!  The other indicator of spring is Jer mowed yesterday. We burned most of the leaves and branches we'd collected in a pile and Jer mowed the rest up. The yard looks much better now. Now we just need a little more time to burn the rest of the pile. It'd be great if our rake didn't keep breaking its stick. Yep. This weekend we head to Bryant for a great weekend. On Monday, Jer will have his cholesterol checked again. We'll see in another week following how that is. I'm not sure why it takes them a week to get back to us about that, but oh well. Jer really likes this Dr. so that's what matters. We'll be asking if he'll do the medical exam for NZ this summer as well. Hopefully, he'll agree to do it. Guess that's it.

All that Jazz

So, the last two weeks have gone by quickly. Mostly filled with homework. Two weekends ago, I made a last minute trip to LR for the Women of Faith conference. It was good. I went down with one of Jer's co-workers and my friend, April. We enjoyed ourselves. We both brought our mothers too. I stayed with Lisa on Saturday, which was good. This past weekend was mostly lounging. That was good too! We listened to a lot of Harry Potter. We're almost through book 5 now. Jer's been fixing April's computer too. So, that's kept him busy. And guess what happened yet again.  If you guessed the heater went out, you are right. We woke up Sunday morning thinking, it's kinda chilly. We look and of course, no heat......again. So far, heater guy has come and manually lit it and got it going b/c he was on his way to Springdale or something. He'll be back "later" to fix it. Something about spark ignitor or something. I think we're gonna have a new heater by the time the cold is over with. Something about the sudden cold snaps breaks the heater. We spent Sunday evening with April and a guy she's dating. It was good. We had fun. We went and saw the Beaver bridge which is crazy flooded right now. I heard Friday there was a large hot tub stuck there. Who knows where that came from. We saw a large propane tank that was moved up to dry land. I can't imagine moving that. Anyhow, good times.

edit: apparantly "later" means 24 hours later. i now have heat at 10:30 Tuesdsay morning.

Quilt

I was putting away all the blankets from having Jer's family over, and June decided that I was not putting that blanket away.

Safe.

We're home and completely intact. Pictures to come later. Even the loads and loads of after ski tip laundry is done! Yea me!

BTW, those wanting to know, our FBI reports are back. This is the first step in getting paperwork for NZ.
