Teens these days!

First there was the boy two days ago that couldn't speak in complete sentences. Seriously, how do you pass your classes!!?? How do you parents and teachers let you get by with this?

Then there's the couple who are taking their time leaving the library at closing. I see what looks like he put her hand in her skirt...but surely, i saw wrong, right? no. When she stands, she has to zip the back of her skirt. Then I saw she was keeping her phone between her legs. How do I know this? Because boy lifts her skirt to get it! I'm standing right there watching them. What are they doing!? They're in a library!! I guess the pretense of studying went out the door, even though they had all their papers and books out.

That said. I have some of the best teens in our youth group. I'm so proud of them. They are fun, energetic, and try hard. They want to be helpful and involved. They are even working on reading the Bible through in a year. (Granted, they were promised $100 if they do it, but still) It's started some great conversations between them, their parents, and us. The parents are pretty excited about too.

Dear Tosca,

Here is my last post for work. This series of ones did give me things to look at that I've not used before. Sometimes I wonder how you found these sites, Tosca. My answers in the final survey for would I promote these could have veried in that I would have answered "might promote to customers". It depends on the situation. Of course, that's my answer for most things in life. I don't know until I'm in the situation. I doubt I will look at most of these ever again, but it is good knowledge. I can't decide whether I liked it spread out to twice the lenth. I would say it was good only b/c there are a million other things going on during this time of change...like Paul's evil quizzes. :-)

Week 6: Encompass Culture

Encompass Culture is yet another bookclub thing. I didn't find it any better than the rest. The graphics for searching for book titles is cool, but that's about it. I wouldn't reccommend it to anyone. In the age of easy uploading and image overload, why would this site use just text to help you figure out how to use the site. I just kept wanting to not read the long list of things. Maybe I'm just tired. :-) I would rather just use the other options we have for recommended reading.

Week 5: Slideshare

Ok, I will deviate from my picture show now to do my next work blog. This is mostly b/c I've not had the time to get the rest of the pics off my camra and put them up here. :-(

Slideshare is a social slideshow network. You can search for slideshows (you know, like powerpoint presentations) on whatever topic you might be interested in looking at. Interesting concept. Cool you can share them, if you want to. I'm more of a private person and probably wouldn't really be into doing this myself, but I can see the draw of it for businesses. They don't have to email a .ppt to anyone and worry about it working or not. You can just upload it up to the web for free and give whomever you chose the link. I would recommend this to someone who is wanting to get information out on a widescale...not just a handful of people. It is easy to use, so that is good.

US Trip Part 2

After a nice wedding, we met up with Jeremy in Branson. We drove to Stillwater on Sunday. We got to see our best friends from Bryant, Bobby, Lisa, and their baby Lydia. Lydia was quite sweet and enjoyed playing with us. At first she only came to me to get to Jeremy, but I quickly became the favorite the next day. :-) There's a first time for everything. Chalk it up to teething and wanting to be held rather than play.

I also got to see Melissa and her new boy, Lucas. This marks off #2 and #3 babies on my list.

On the way to Lubbock, we stopped for lunch in Chickasha, Oklahoma. My "brotha' from another motha'", BJ lives there with his family. Sadly, they were all napping or in school, so I didn't get to visit with the whole family.

When we arrived in Lubbock, Texas, we had a big party with all of Jer's family who lives there. The next day was my birthday. We went to Cracker Barrel and did a lot of shopping. As you can see, we don't look anything but tired the entire trip. We can't seem to adjust. It's been run run run.

US Trip Part 1

We made it to the states relatively sane. Jer would tell you that I was losing my marbles, but really I was just antsy and tired of being on the planes seat-belted in. We had so many delays that we had practically no or no layover between flights. I know have a full appreciation for layovers. Here's how the trip is going.

First Jer went up to Kerusso to work, while I hung out with people in Arkansas. My first day was with mom. The second day I went shopping and lunch with my high school buds, Stephanie and Wynter. Steph is carrying a little boy in her belly. I'm sad I won't be there after she delivers.

The next day I had lunch with two of my girls from Bryant. On Thursday, Dad and I made the trek to Nebraska for my cousin Jeremy's wedding. Here's a sunset on the way there.

Just before this sunset, we stopped at a truck stop/restaurant for dinner. What we found out is that it is also a chapel. While visiting the quite unusually posh toilet, I discovered the toilets had heated toilet seats. While unusual, I can see a use for these in winter.....assuming they won't electrocute you.

Here is my cousin, the best man, Chris and his little boy Theodore. I showed a picture of him back after he was born. He is the first of the 4 babies I got to see when we came back. Isn't he cute in his tux?
